Keeping Your Dog Entertained at Home

During these unprecedented times, many of us may be working from home to the absolute joy of our furry children. However, dogs can get bored easily and need constant simulation. So how can we keep them entertained whilst still being productive? Here are some tips to help your dog beat the boredom.

Often dogs are restless or bored at home which can transpire into destructive behaviour such as chewing (anything and everything!), whining or digging up the garden if outdoors. A simple solution is to burn off their excess energy by taking them for a quick walk in the mornings and evenings. Every dog’s exercise requirements will be different but a 20 minute walk daily can often be sufficient to keep them happy and settled for the rest of the day alone. If time allows, another option would be to let them socialise with other dogs in a nearby park, or simply playing fetch with their favourite outdoor toy. Leaving on the TV or Radio can also be helpful so they aren’t surrounded in silence. Finally, a plush toy can make all the difference.
