Unlike many other treatments (especially tablets), Advocate kills flea larvae in your cat's surroundings within 20 minutes of contact with the active ingredient (in shed skin and hair debris) - breaking the flea lifecycle. It even provides protection to your cat when it comes into contact with other animals that have fleas. Advocate kills fleas on contact, so cats don't suffer painful bites, reducing the incidence of Flea Allergy Dermatitis.
