Preparing Your Pet for a Happy New Year
We’re all looking forward to a fresh start in the New Year!
While we may be busy preparing to welcome in the new year, the festive season can be an anxious time for your pets. From fireworks to festive gatherings, the extra activity can sometimes be a stressful environment for your furry friend. Here are our best tips to help your pet enjoy this special time.
New Year's Tips for Your Pets
Keeping Your Pet Calm
Fireworks, loud activity and big groups can give your pet anxiety! Keep some Vetalogica Calming Treats on hand to help your Dog or Cat stay calm and collected.
Hot Tip: Distract your pet with interactive toys or long-lasting treats if your pet is prone to anxiety.
Keeping Your Pet Comfortable
Make sure your pet has a soft and comforting bed to find refuge if they are feeling nervous. Create a space for them in your home that gives them some distance from the activity and guest with all their favourite things. Sometimes having piece of clothing that has your scent can help keep them calm while you are busy with hosting responsibilities.
Hot tip: Spray their bed with Adaptil or Feliway to help them feel relaxed.
Celebrate With Your Pet
We’re celebrating and our pets should too! Give your pet a new gift and treat them to something delicious to start the new year!
Hot Tip: Ensure that human treats are kept safely away from the reach of our pets. Certain ingredients can be poisonous such as chocolate, macadamia nuts, grapes and sultanas to name a few. So keep them safe by treating them to their own.
