How to Check Your Dog for Ticks and Fleas

Hot summer weather can create the perfect breeding conditions all across Sydney for ticks. This often means that tick season is more severe and can last longer than previous years and we can see areas that don't traditionally have ticks begin to see infestations.

It is really important that you check your pet regularly for ticks or other parasites. If they go into the bush often or if you live in tick infested areas, you should be checking your pet at least once a day. In the above video, Dr. Jason demonstrates how to thoroughly check your pets for ticks and fleas and what symptoms to look out for.

Remember, even if your dog or cat spends most of their times indoors or in your yard, ticks and fleas can still be transmitted through your clothing or other pets. The cost of prevention is much cheaper and gentler than an emergency trip to the vet. So don't get caught out this season, stock up on parasite protection!
